Energuide Ratings For New Homes
An Energuide Label provides home owners with a measurement of the energy consumption of the home and compare it to a typical home built to code.
Energy Star and R-2000 Homes
An Energy Star certified home is a home that is built to be about 20% more efficient than a typical new home. Homes built to the R-2000 Standard are 50% more energy efficient than a typical house built to code.
Net Zero and Net Zero Ready Homes
A Net Zero home, whether new or renovated, produces as much clean energy as it consumes and is up to 80% more energy efficient than a typical new home buitl to code.
The City Of Calgary is currently offering the Home Energy Labeling program. Participant builders receive a $250 rebate per energy lable up to a maximum of $7,500 per applicant. The rebate is available on new single construction permits (SCPs) for single-family, semi-detatched and duplex homes.
